Goa Police on Tuesday night apprehended Vishnu Bishnoi, a close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, in connection with the murder of a prominent businessman in Punjab. Vishnu, 32, a native of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was reportedly hiding in Goa after the incident.
The arrest was carried out by a special team of 20 personnel from the Mapusa sub-division, operating under the directions of SP Crime Rahul Gupta and supervision of DIG Range Varsha Sharma. Goa Police confirmed that they acted on intelligence shared by their Punjab counterparts regarding Vishnu Bishnoi’s location.

The murder victim, Sanjeev Verma, popularly known as the ‘Kurta Pajama King’, was a renowned cloth merchant in Abohar, Fazilka district of Punjab. He was shot dead on July 7 by motorcycle-borne assailants outside his showroom.
Hours after the killing, a social media post, allegedly by Aarzoo Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the murder. The post mentioned associates Goldy Dhillon and Shubham Lonker from Maharashtra and threatened anyone opposing them. The post stated that the attack was to assert their dominance and warned that “whoever goes against us will be crushed to dust.”
The arrest of Vishnu Bishnoi marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation into organized crime in Punjab and demonstrates the coordinated efforts of interstate police forces in tracking and apprehending fugitives.
