A tragic incident in Bihar’s Nawada district has left one man dead and his wife injured after villagers accused them of witchcraft following a malfunction of a music system at a private event.

According to police reports, 55-year-old Gaya Manjhi and his wife were attacked by a mob from their village, Panchugarh Musahari, after the music system started glitching. During the assault, the couple was reportedly forcibly shaved, paraded with a garland of footwear, and subjected to physical torture by the enraged villagers.

The victim’s body has been sent for autopsy, and authorities are investigating the incident under charges of murder and assault. Police are also working to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in the attack.

This incident highlights the continuing danger of superstitious beliefs and witchcraft-related violence in parts of rural India, emphasizing the need for awareness campaigns and stricter enforcement of laws to prevent such tragedies.
